THE HARRIS COUNTY HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION FACILITY IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

The Spring 2024 HazMobile Events have been scheduled.
These smaller, localized events are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! Please check the list below for the location closest to you. To make an appointment, click the red CLICK HERE on the line corresponding to the event you want to attend. Additional event information will be provided as you are making your appointment. Appointment links will be added 4 weeks before the event date.

Smaller localized events are conducted at various county facilities in the Spring and Fall.

This fall we will be conducting BOPA (Battery Oil Paint & Antifreeze) events in Precincts 1, 2, and 4. You will not need an appointment for the BOPA events. We will only be able to accept batteries, oil, paint, and antifreeze until we have reached our capacity.

Precinct 3 will be a HazMobile Event and you will need to make an appointment to attend this event.

  • Precinct 1: Miller Road Service Center 15530 Miller Road One Houston, TX 77049. Event Date: October 19, 2024 from 8 am –11 am; BOPA EVENT
  • Precinct 2: Hardy Community Center 11901 W. Hardy Road, Houston, TX 77076. (Enter Via John Alber Road) Event Date: December 7, 2024 from 8 am – 11 am; BOPA EVENT
  • Precinct 3: Crosby Community Center 409 Hare Road Crosby TX 77532. Event date: January 18, 2025, from 8 am – 11 am. Please CLICK HERE to schedule your appointment.
  • Precinct 4: Hockley Community Center 28515 Old Washington Road Hockley, TX 77447. Event date: November 2, 2024 from 8 am – 11 am; BOPA EVENT

This facility can only accept items from your household that have been used for household purposes.

Instructions when you get to the facility

When you arrive at the facility, please drive slowly between the orange cones and follow instructions on the signs.  Drive slowly over the speed humps and stop at the stop sign for further instructions.  You will be advised when to drive under the awning for offloading.  For safety reasons, you must put your vehicle in park, turn off your ignition, and remain in your vehicle while being offloaded.  Also for your safety, no one may smoke while on facility property and cell phone use by the driver is prohibited.

Residents of Harris County who reside outside of the incorporated City of Houston limits may use the facility to dispose of unwanted hazardous items from their homes properly they no longer want.  Residents of unincorporated Harris County may use the facility to dispose of unwanted hazardous items from their homes properly.
